About the League

The Huddersfield Netball league was formed back in the early 1960’s by a group of like-minded young women, who all played in local youth clubs, and wanted to play netball more regularly.

A group of them put their heads together, identified and approached with a number of companies in the Huddersfield area, to ask for support, in terms of sponsorship and provision of potential court space.

The league was established which has continued to grow, with today, around 15 clubs, 34 teams and approximately 350 players all over the Huddersfield area. This is an amazing achievement going to show the passion and excitement shown in our town for this wonderful sport.
