WYCNA Rules Forum

The well acclaimed previously run Rules Forums are back, with three dates available for booking. All umpires are asked to attend, and also one player (non-umpiring) from each team

27 August -6.30 - 9.30pm, or
8th September - 9.30am - 12.30pm, or
10th September - 6.30pm - 9.30pm

All of them are being held at the Cedar Court Hotel (top of M6060), Rooley Lane, Bradford, BD5 8HW

We are asking all umpires to attend, and at least one player from each team. I would suggest booking ASAP as spaces are filling up, and all umpires and teams from the Saturday West Yorks senior league are being asked to attend as well.

All SEN secondary and 6th form students (max. 3 males/team)

ParaNetball Deaf Championship
Date: 15th June 2019
Venue: Lee Westwood Centre, Nottingham Trent University
Time: 10.00 – 4pm
Sign up as an individual, group or team. Open to anyone who wears a hearing aid or implant

ParaNetball Club Championship
Date: 15th June 2019
Venue: Lee Westwood Centre, Nottingham Trent University
Time: 10.00 – 4pm
All intellectual impairments (max. 3 males/team)

England Netball Disability Awareness Course
Date: 15th June 2019
Venue: Lee Westwood Centre, Nottingham Trent University
Time: 10.00 – 4pm
Price: TBC

This course will run throughout the competition and is a chance for people to get trained and upskilled in all things disability.

Email completed entry forms to compevents@englandnetball.co.uk. Availability is limited, places will be awarded on a first come first served basis.

IF any West Yorkshire club/school has one of two players interested in playing but aren’t part of a full team, please get in touch, we may be able to pair club/schools up and send West Yorkshire representative teams along to the competition! Just email me back with details of amount of players interested.

"C" Award Umpiring Course

Date: Sunday 3rd November 2019
Timings: 10:00 – 16:00
Venue: Bradford College, Easby Road, Bradford BD7 1QX

After you attend the course you will:

Improve your current understanding and knowledge of the rules of the game
Understand the requirements for the Netball Europe C Award
Improve your umpiring skills by identifying/observing and penalising infringements of the rules
Be able to demonstrate how positioning, movement and vision impacts on an umpire’s performance
Begin to develop an awareness of when it is appropriate to playing advantage
Have an awareness of Contact v Contest
Understand the importance of Game Management for control and discipline

C Award Written Test

West Yorkshire will be holding a test on Sunday 14th July at 14:00, Bradford College, Easby Road, Bradford BD7 1QX

If you have attended a C Award Umpiring Course within the last two years and you would like to take the C Award Written Test, then please contact Kirsty Woodhouse - WYCNAofficiating@outlook.com, Detailing the date of your C award Course and Tutor/Venue.
